BOSTON PUBLIC LIBRARY CLOSED, ONLINE SERVICES STILL AVAILABLE

All branches of the Boston Public Library (BPL) remain closed until further notice. However, online services remain available at no cost on the BPL website (bpl.org). These services include eBooks and audiobooks available for borrowing and free webinars for adults and children to attend. Understanding that many children are at home and do not have access to the educational services that were accessible pre-COVID social distancing, many publishers have removed barriers to accessing books online. One example - author J. K. Rowling in conjunction with Scholastic Books and Pottermore Publishing has made the first book in her (globally bestselling) Harry Potter series free to listen to and read (in over 20 languages). This book (and more) can be freely accessed at bpl.org.
