Alarming rise in virus cases as states roll back lockdowns

Cases are rising in nearly half the states, according to an Associated Press analysis. In Arizona, which opened in May 15, hospitals have been told to prepare for the worst. Texas has more hospitalized COVID-19 patients than at any time before. Other states like North Carolina and Florida are also seeing an increasing number of cases. Several reasons can be attributed for the surges, including lifting of stay-at-home orders, increasing ability to provide testing and thus detect more cases, and to an unknown extent, the protests that have erupted throughout the country. President Trump this week has said that he will hold rallies in four states - Arizona, Florida, Oklahoma and Texas. All four states have seen a rising number of cases.
